What counts as an AI citation?+
An AI citation is logged every time an AI bot (ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, GoogleOther) fetches one of your pages to use as a source when answering a user question. We track these visits via server logs.
Which AI engines do you track?+
We track ChatGPT (OpenAI), Perplexity, Claude (Anthropic), Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Mistral, and Grok. New engines are added as they launch.
How is this different from Google Search Console?+
Google Search Console tracks traditional search clicks and impressions. AI citation tracking monitors a completely different channel: when AI models read your site to answer questions. These visits do not appear in GSC.
Do I need to change my website code?+
